There are so many layers and connections regarding the manson murders that it is impossible to consider the crimes as random. The offical reasons are somewhat politically driven and remote.

This is unrelated to your post, but I don't know where else to write you. I read Sinister Forces and can only imagine what a huge undertaking it was to gather and compile the data. I don't have opinions of "good" and "bad" concerning non-fiction writings (or much anything else in life. Good and bad are such broad terms), since the study of history is a never ending battle for accuracy. Nonetheless Sinister Forces is a compelling AND enthralling book.
